A. Bergère Rosé NV
Rosé in Champagne can be a bit of a wild ride at times, and is often an afterthought, but at this address the same focus and attention goes into the Rosé wines as the more ‘serious wines’ the domaine releases. This NV Rosé is based predominantly on Chardonnay grown in an around the winery on the beautiful slopes of Fèrebrianges.
2017 Base and there is 10% Coteaux Champenoise Rouge blended in for colour. The Coteaux is a serious wine in itself, mostly fermented and aged in inox in order to preserve freshness and elegance in the final wine. This is a wine that screams out for food and the team are looking for a ‘gourmand’ style, with the wine in bottle making you salivate more and more with every sip. A seriously great example of a grower that thinks of the final place where the wine will be poured at the same time as concentrating on capturing the vineyards where the grapes are grown in the glass.
