Burklin-Wolf Hohenmorgen "G.C." Riesling 2021
The Hohenmorgen is one of the Deidesheimer locations from Dr. Bürklin Wolf. The winery has 0.85 hectares in the four-hectare location, which is characterized by weathered red sandstone soils with lime deposits from the limestone reef, which runs along the bird hill zone of the Mittelhaardt. The wine, which has also been officially produced biodynamically since 2005, is spontaneously fermented and aged in double barrels (2,400 l). The G.C., as Dr. Bürklin-Wolf calls its Grosse Gewächse, offers a stunningly juicy, ripe and at the same time fine and nuanced nose with comparatively lots of stone fruit, citrus notes, smoke and stone. On the palate it appears sensual and juicy, it is very balanced and structured with extract and a polished acidity. That's very, very good and extremely independent!
