Named after a prominent nearby landmark, Castle Rock Estate is nestled on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup mountains. Angelo and Wendy Diletti first planted vineyards in 1983, releasing the first vintage of Riesling in 1986. In 2001 their son Robert returned as a winemaker to design and build the winery on the property. All the wines are now made on site by Robert.

The vineyard is situated 40km north east of Albany and 30km south east of Mount Barker, on a cool and elevated northerly aspect. This results in well ripened cool climate varieties producing intensely flavoured wines.
