Chateau Léoville Barton, 2ème G.C.C, 1855 St. Julien 1999
Deep, dark & virtually opaque ruby-red in color. A hugely concentrated ripe nose of black-cherry notes, figs & cocoa. The palate is rounded & full with wonderfully punchy blackcurrant fruit, chocolatey notes & seamlessly integrated cedar oak. Acidity is soft, so the fruit lacks a little lift and energy. Alcohol is balanced, length is pretty good & there is good tannic grip at the finish.
