Just 1 case left which has come direct from the Chateau and is in pristine condition. Old bottles are only re-corked if the levels are down or corks need replacing in which case the wine would be topped up from the same vintage and then given a tiny dose of SO2 and re-corked and then laid down for at least 12 months before labeling and re-release. The Chateau has a remarkable library of perfectly stored old bottles kept in cool optimal conditions. These wines have a proven ageing capacity that is remarkable.

1970 is a very good vintage, this wine is now fully mature and drinking beautifully with very gentle tannins and notes of leather with an almost honeyed sweetness to the fruit. A Long, elegant and a great drinking experience.

Mont-Redon is clearly a candidate for not only the most improved producer and the best value producer of the Southern Rhône but now also one the very best producers in the large historic appellation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
