This fortified wine is a blend of Shiraz, Cab Sav and Muscat. It was stored in old rum casks and thus the unique name, ummy. It flaunts a beautiful brick red colour upon being poured into a glass. The bouquet exudes aromas of raisins and dates along with a touch of caramel and rum. A bright port-style wine, it brimming with raisin flavours that are beautifully complemented by subtle rancio and nuts. The drink complex palate eventually culminates in a rich, sweet and lingering finish. You may pair it with pecan pie, or rich cheeses (like washed-rind or blue cheese).
