Domaine des Chirates 'Rockpile Vineyard' Syrah 2016
Domaine des Chirates is the brain child of Jeff Cohn and Yves Cuilleron. Their first project has translated into a huge success, with scores from 94-97 points, their new wine will continue to be a favorite for years to come. The vineyard selected for the project was the Chapoutier suitcase selection, which is the oldest planting of Syrah at Rockpile. It's not the darkest or the biggest, but it is the most complex. At 2,010 ft. elevation with 20-year-old vines, this wine is not French, not California, but purely ‘Rockpile Syrah'.
