Domaine Dugat-Py Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gains 2022

Terroir:
Puligny-Montrachet is recognized as the most noble and elegant village in Burgundy, led by the famed Grand Cru Montrachet, the pinnacle expression of Chardonnay. The wine shows a golden hue with aromas of hawthorn blossom, almond candy, hazelnut, amber, lemongrass, and green apple, intertwined with notes of fresh cream and minerality. The structure is harmonious, balanced, and gracefully focused.

Winemaking:
The current owner, Loïc Dugat, represents the 13th generation of the estate. After joining in 1996, he honed his craft for nearly 20 years before officially taking over in 2015. His winemaking style incorporates a high proportion of whole-cluster fermentation, moderate extraction, and a reduced use of new oak. While continuing the deep, complex style established by his father Bernard, he also produces wines approachable even in their youth. Beyond the estate’s renowned reds, few realize that his whites are crafted with equal brilliance.
