The Roux family has been producing wine in Saint-Aubin since 1885. Louis Roux’s grandson Marcel extended the holdings to 25 hectares encompassing Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Santenay, and was a leading light in establishing the reputation of the Saint-Aubin appellation. His three sons continued to develop the Domaine in the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte d’Or. Fifth generation, Mathieu and Sébastien, commenced in the family business in 2003, focusing on the Domaine wines, bringing back to life numerous forgotten lieux-dits plus new acquisitions in Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today the Domaine extends over 70 hectares, and attention to detail is scrupulous. Vinification is strictly by site selection with limited additions in both the vineyard and the winery, to protect the origins and terroir of the fruit for the purest possible expression.
