Achleiten is a legendary vineyard, right on the Danube on the outskirts of Weißenkirchen. Dry stone walls from the 12th century and siliceous, barren soils characterize the image of this top location. The upper part of the mountain is dominated by Gföhl gneiss whereas in the lower slope, paragneiss dominates and dark, foliated amphibolite rock often occurs.

The maceration is gently pressed. After fermentation (partially spontaneous) and initial storage in steel tanks, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for a few months and further matured in large wooden barrels. Storage on the fine lees provides precise nuances and extra depth.. – Domäne Wachau
