Fox Creek Custodians ‘Postmaster’ GSM
Appearance: Bright cherry red.
Bouquet: Perfumed confectionary lift with aromas of raspberry, mulberry and red cherry, hints of musk, ginger nut biscuits with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.
Palate: A complex and luscious palate dominated by mulberry, raspberries and red cherries leading into a strawberry and cream mid palate with hints of chocolate eclair. The wine has well integrated oak, focussed and elegant tannins with a silky persistent finish. This is a classic regional blend that shows off the varieties that do well and is also fantastic with food.
Henry Malpas, Willunga's first Postmaster from 1852 to 1873, acquired the first Certificate of Title to Section 205 Malpas Road, McLaren Vale. This plot of land was destined for great things and under the custodianship of Jim and Helen Watts, the first of the Fox Creek vines were planted on it in 1984.
