Dense pitch black heart with a bright dark red-black tinged hue. Ripe blackcurrant aromas flood the olfactory senses with some liquorice, mulberry, cedary tobacco and spicy dried herb notes ensuing. Displaying a combination of richness, charm and refinement the medium-bodied palate is decorated with blackcurrant and ripe mulberry fruits which overlay dusty cedar, tobacco, scorched earth and spicy black olive characters. Fine-grained yet sturdily built tannins along with a nicely balanced freshness provide the structural frame. The finish showcases the vintage's hallmark elegance with a lengthy earth-tinged aftertaste.
