The Heymann-Löwenstein “Röttgen” Grosses Gewächs Riesling 2022 is a striking dry Riesling from the steep, terraced slopes of the Röttgen vineyard in Winningen, Mosel, Germany. Cultivated on ancient Devonian slate at elevations between ~80-180 m with vines averaging over 60 years old (many on own roots), this wine captures intense minerality, vivid stone-slate character and layered fruit.

Aromatically it reveals wet stone, citrus peel, yellow peach, hints of exotic fruits, maybe touches of mandarin, anise and green herb-tones. On the palate it balances juicy fruit with taut acidity, very fine phenolic texture, and a long saline, mineral finish. It’s elegant yet powerful, built for cellaring but appealing even in its youth.
