For over ten years Hickinbotham has been producing some of the most sought-after wines from their small pocket of northern McLaren Vale. Their single vineyard and single varietal wines are well-known for their power and their elegance, and this delicious and mouthwatering Merlot is no exception!

Farmed organically and biodynamically since 2019, the Hickinbotham vineyard is carefully managed to produce grapes of outstanding quality, with these Merlot berries are far cry from the flabby and over-extracted versions of yesteryear. A judicious use of toasted oak lends smoke and spice, without overshadowing the character of the grapes.

A red-fruited, cigar-box affair, with a refreshing acid line and chewy tannins. Well worth laying down.
