Jasci & Marchesani Abruzzo Janu' Montepulciano 2021

The Jasci & Marchesani family are organic farming pioneers and have been certified since 1978. The history of the family and their wine is indissolubly linked to their love for the land, hence the decision to convert all 33 hectares in the Abruzzo region to organic vine-growing principles. The producer has embraced the challenge to accompany the organic philosophy with a low-energy-impact production system, so as to guarantee a healthy and environmentally friendly product that surrounds them.

Janu' is a magnificent Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva, with a unique ageing twice in new barrels, meaning a first passage for 8 months in new oak barrels followed by another passage in new barrels for another 8 months. The result is just amazing and quite far from what could be expected. Janu is a ruby red ink colour with violet reflections, intense with a nose of white chocolate, coffee, cherry, hints of tobacco and caramel, yet the fruit component always stays vivid. In mouth can be cut in slices, such a full creamy body, with thick tannins and an infinite taste persistence.
