Lethbridge Dr Nadeson Riesling 2023

Ray Nadeson’s relationship with Riesling runs deep. After losing his original Henty fruit source in 2014, he spent several vintages testing sites across Victoria, chasing that same cool-climate clarity. He eventually landed in Drumborg, where longtime growers Jack and Lois Doeven finally agreed to let him work with their Riesling - grown in one of the state’s coldest, most remote corners.

This site delivers exactly what Ray was after: a Riesling with focus, precision and natural drive. The 2023 vintage captures that in spades. Bright and taut, it offers lime zest, green apple, white florals and chalky minerality, underpinned by crisp, racy acidity. There’s a little texture from time on lees, but the wine remains lean and clean.

It’s a style that leans into purity and line over showiness - more about quiet detail than loud expression. And while it drinks beautifully now, there’s no rush - this is classic cool-climate Riesling that will reward a few years in the cellar.

A thoughtful wine from a winemaker who knows exactly what he’s looking for - and finally found it.
