Meyer-Fonne Pinot Blanc ‘Vieilles Vignes’ 2017

"The finish is ethereal, probably the best value white wine available in the whole of France."

All of Meyer’s bottlings are characterized by stunning aromatics and a signature backbone of minerality and nerve. Racy and elegant, his wines are difficult to resist young but have all the right qualities for the cellar. For aromatic and textural seductiveness, no one in Alsace can top Meyer-Fonné.

With a nose so perfumed you might be satisfied just to breathe it in, this Pinot Blanc is complex, rich, and structured. Alsace’s “everyday white” comes alive in new ways under Félix Meyer's painstaking care, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone opposed to its clean, crowd-pleasing style.

From 80 year old vines. Full, dry and with a bouquet of spring flowers and flavours from the orchard. Delicious and moreish.

"Year after year this plot of old vines produce a remarkable wine. This Pinot Blanc acts like Pinot Gris on the nose — rich, oily apricot and pear fruit— but the touch of white pepper and taste of freshly squeezed oranges is classic Pinot Blanc. The palate is likewise rich and honeyed with a streak of minerality, a smoky side, and a touch of citrus. "The finish is ethereal, probably the best value white wine available in the whole of France." Michel Bettane - La Revue du Vin de Franc
