Ostler Caroline’s Pinot Noir 2018

Our signature ‘Clos Ostler’ Vineyard from vines grown on soils

underpinned with solid limestone and marl;
From a cooler year: Fruit from vines from the top half of the Audrey’ Block
demonstrated some gorgeous top notes of violets or lavender, plush red
fruits and long sinewy tannins; Fruit from the top of the Caroline’s block
showed all the exotic spice characters we could ask for, so that when put
together over the dark fruited Brulee (Bally block tops) we had a complete
wine. Ruby hued with hints of purple in the rim. Aromatically the wine
has a strong voice; red & dark fruits, dried herb, liquorice, chocolate, tar &
smoke all with the underlying limestone induced minerality of this
profound site. The palate is fine and mouth-filling with enchanting
softness that belies its depth of flavour. ‘It is a great wine that we are
very proud of and has been an absolute delight to bring into existence’. –
