Pascal Jolivet Pouilly Fumé 375ml 2014
Pascal Jolivet started life as a negociant in 1982. By sheer quality of his wines his reputation grew and now he has 28 hectare of vineyards across Pouilly Fume and Sancerre.
I’ve always been a fan of this Pouilly Fume. Sourced from the three main terroirs of Pouilly it gives a great overview of what the region as a whole offers. Crisp, clean, refreshing. Tropical fruits, lemons and tangerine, a hint of white flowers. The palate is a light, clean affair with plenty of zesty acid and it is very long. Hints of chalky flavours and tannin is evident here too. This is a great aperitif style Pouilly that would also complement seafood, goats cheese or other lighter dishes.
