Prager ‘Hinter der Burg’ Federspiel Gruner Veltliner
"Allocation only, email [email protected] to secure allocation"
Behind the castle of Weißenkirchen (on the side at the foot of the Achleiten vineyard) lies the origin of this Grüner Veltliner, with classic Wachau primary rock soil. The 2021 Federspiel starts off smoky and playful on the nose, followed quickly by ripe fruit and a lot of intensity, dark spice, ripe peach, some Williams pear, maggi herb and sage, juicy and engaging. On the palate with a vibrant structure, full-bodied and with salty hints, powerful and with a fine grip, the soil comes through so directly and sparsely as is rarely the case with wines in the Federspiel category!
