Quinta da Muradella Alanda Blanco 2021
Al-Anda means Get going! or Get moving!, and this Muradella 'house blend' is a young white wine crafted from a range of small plots, or majuelos, scattered across Monterrei's three subzones. The rocky soils here are mainly composed of decomposed slate with granite and clay. The varieties planted are Doña Blanca, Treixadura, Verdello (Verdelho) and the magnificently named (after its large berries), Monstruosa. Each variety is vinified separately in stainless steel - this is one of the few Muradella wines that does not have any oak maturation - and fermentation occurs naturally. The Treixadura portion of the blend macerates on its skins for a few days. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is a delicious, all-cards-on-the-table, complex and refreshing dry white.
