Aromatically complex and layered this wine shows intense primary fruit notes of blackberries, dark plums and blueberries before more earthy, mineral hints of ferrous earth and boot polish tantalisingly and fleetingly appear. The same controlled fruit profile seen on the nose is joined by some dark chocolate notes on the palate where it rolls though in enticing creamy waves. A sense of genuine control is provided by a subtle, fine tannin frame which ensures the fruit is sufficiently pinned in and working towards a focused end point.
