Michel Tardieu is amongst the best winemakers in France . His wonderful wines are scarce and sought after, even though he does not have his own vineyards. In 1996, together with his friend Dominique Laurent, he founded the Tardieu–Laurent winery. His concept: To buy the finest grapes from the selected best plots from good winegrowers in the region in order to vinify top wines in his own cellar. From Condrieu and St. Joseph in the north, to the Rhône legend Châteauneuf-du-Pape, no wish remains unfulfilled.

This Saint-Joseph is 100% Syrah revealing pronounced aromas of blackberry, black cherry and also slightly smoky notes reminiscent of incense. On the palate it is already quite accessible and very fruity. The quite present tannins are noble and it dominates a fleshy juiciness. Nice and smooth with medium length, to drink now or to cellar for 5 years.
