Taylors St Andrews Riesling 2024
Gold Award - VINUS International Wine & Spirits Competition 2024
Colour
At release, the wine is a very pale straw colour with a slight green tinge to the edge.
Nose
The wine exhibits complex aromas of zesty lemon and lime aromas along with delightful orange blossom and faint rosewater characters.
Palate
Across the palate, the wine is exceptionally balanced with an abundant of lemon/lime juice characters and a hint of fresh rose petals and white ginger. There is a crisp and refreshing lime acidity through the mid-palate leading to a finish of superb persistence.
Vintage Conditions
The growing season leading into vintage 2024 started with a relatively dry and slightly warmer than average winter. Spring weather was consistent with long term averages and budburst occurred on track in early September. There were some minor frost events recorded in September but damage was minimal. At the end of October, however, the Clare Valley recorded a significant frost event which affected yields. The fruit that was able to be harvested however was of exceptionally high quality.
Cellaring Notes
Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a long term under ideal conditions.
