Telmo Rodriguez ‘O Diviso’ Single Vineyard Mencía 2020
O Diviso is a barrel-aged red wine produced by Laderiras by Xil for Compañia de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez in the D.O. Valdeorras.
Telmo Rodríguez has projects in various areas in Spain: in Rueda, Toro, Ribera del Duero, Malaga, Cebreros, etc. It only uses indigenous varieties from the areas where it operates to show the typical nature of these varieties in each of the terroirs where they grow.
O Diviso is a coupage of Mencía, Brancellao, Sousón, Grenache and other red and white varieties. The vineyards are farmed organically. The plants are trained in bush form and the harvest is performed manually into boxes. The vines are located at an altitude of between 550 and 725 metres above the slopes leading down to the Bibei River. The plots are terraced due to the steep slopes. They are oriented to the south, west and northwest. The soils are acid and thick in texture.
O Diviso is fermented with native yeasts in small wooden vats. In the end it undergoes a gentle ageing for 12 months in wooden foudres. Only about 800 bottles are produced which also makes it a unique and exclusive wine.
O Diviso It is a terroir wine, with aromas of undergrowth and black fruit. On the palate it is fresh but at the same time powerful. A harmonious wine that has known how to perfectly match all its elements.
