Tiziano Grasso Barolo DOCG Briccolina 2021

We are in Serralunga, around the Briccolina vineyard, a natural amphitheater facing south, a position more than suitable for the aging of Nebbiolo for Barolo, and it is right here that is located the winery of Tiziano Grasso, owner of this magnificent land for 5 generations now. The interesting story of this small reality of Langhe is that until 2012 they had never produced wine, but they limited themselves to work the 6 hectares of vineyard with great maniacal care and then sell the grapes. In parallel with the sale, finally thanks to Tiziano with plants older than 50 years it was decided to give life to a few thousand bottles with their own label. Thus was born their unique “Barolo Briccolina”. In 2017 a few years after the release of the first bottles, Tiziano passed away due to an accident in the vineyard, leaving a huge void to all his lovers of “Barolo Briccolina”, now with great courage and skill his son Daniele continued to bring up this little gem. The result is one of the wines from the Serralunga area that impressed me the most. A true wine, rustic, with powerful tannins, to be waited for, with a very high quality manufacture.
