Central Victoria had a warm dry spring with some early summer rain which led to good fruit set and subsequent healthy green canopies. Slightly lower than average yields meant that after the impact of birds and other typically Australian wildlife late in the season, the overall tonnage harvested was well down. The grapes that were eventually harvested did show good depth of flavour and concentration. Deep rich burgundy. The wine has lifted raspberry and blackberry aromas on the nose with hints of vanillin and spice. The palate is well structured with luscious berry flavours supported by fine velvet tannins.
