Due to Guffens' finicky selection and the cool, east facing, chalky soils of the slope, this wine is typically one of the most precise and mineral in the Verget lineup. The 2017 is certainly a step up in power. Vinified for a short time in barrel, without batonnage, it's a deep and powerful yet also incredibly mineral and structured wine. The nose is rocky and closed and the palate is superb - delicious, powdery, racy and crunchy. It's tightly wound yet wonderfully drinkable now for those who lovely mineral whites with a long, palate that suggests lemon pith, grapefruit and crushed rock. A mineral bomb!
