Origin : in the town of Vérenay, is the place called "La Viallière". A beautiful south-facing hillside where Massal selection Syrah vines are planted. A Côte-Rôtie with finesse.

Terroirs : Mica schists.

Grape variety : Syrah.

Viticulture : planted in high density (8,000-10,000 vines per ha). Treatments limited to the maximum depending on the weather, no insecticide to preserve biodiversity, little fertilizer and only organic. Control of vigor and yields, leaf stripping, green harvesting for better ripening of the grapes. Disbudding in the spring.

Vinification : manual harvest, plot-by-plot and traditional vinification. Use of oenological products (indigenous yeasts) as little as possible. In the cellar, sorting, crushing and partial destemming. Maceration for 3 weeks in open vats.

Ageing : 18 months in barrels.

Production : approx. 1,700 bottles.

Olfactory tasting: delicate and fine nose on spices with notes of red fruits.

Tasting notes: elegant and subtle on the palate. Nice attack on fine tannins. Rare and balanced length, on lightness and finesse.

Laying down : cuvée de garde. Best to wait 6 years and can age 15 years or more.

Pairing : tender and elegant meat (lamb or veal).
