There are handful of rare red grape varieties grown in the Rías Baixas region of Spain which is best known for its Albariño. This is made from Caiño that's grown on granitic soils, hand harvested and then fermented whole cluster in open top old barrels. Pale red in color and reminiscent of an Alpine red wine. Vibrant red fruits and mineral. The acidity is boon at the table.
