Luna Estate Pinot Noir

Luna Estate Pinot Noir

Vibrant, deep crimson colour. A very energetic looking wine. Darker Pinot shades here; black cherry, black doris plum and sarsaparilla/cola notes on the
first sniff, then meat, spice and earth with some woodsy/tarry smells. Plenty of floral prettiness as well with a waft of violet and lavender. Full expression
of Pinot Noir! Albeit on the darker side of the force! Very intense dark cherry delivered in a ‘fruit bomb’ of rich textures and flavours. Lovely ripe Martinborough style tannins providing great framework with some fine acidity delivering just enough charge. Heaps of flavour! Delicious now but will most certainly develop into more deliciousness over the next few years.

“Very vibrant appearance with deep ruby/burgundy colour. Dark cherries, baked plum, violets, lavender and silty earth. All nice things to smell in a Pinot! A good bit of quality oak adds to the intrigue. The palate ticks all of the high quality Martinborough Pinot boxes; plush and silky tannins with rich ripe berry flavours and text book earthy and savoury tannins. Really smooth and moresish, showing the qualities of a concentrated, high quality vintage. Delicious right now and definitely has the balance and concentration to improve with 5 plus years in the cellar.” — Joel Watson, Winemaker
