Corton-Charlemagne is the only vineyard in Burgundy bearing the name of two emperors: Curtis d'Othon, Emperor of Germany, giving Courthon and then Corton, to which Carolus Magnus, Charlemagne, followed. Located on the emblematic "Colline des Cortons", this Grand Cru helped with the international notoriety of the hill. The "Colline" or "Montagne des Cortons" is a veritable mosaic of styles and terroirs. The Corton-Charlemagne of Louis-Jadot is an elegant, straightforward and powerful wine. The palate evokes ripe fruit and hazelnut. It is a great white wine to drink after at least 8 years' aging.
