In keeping with the philosophy behind the Douglas label, which is to produce a red wine blend that genuinely reflects each "Bannockburn" vintage, changes in the wine style will occur because no two growing seasons are ever the same. In this 'Geelong Claret' incarnation, Cabernet is the star performer, with dusty blackcurrant and liquorice flavours dominant. There is sufficient Merlot and Shiraz to round out the mid-palate and some savoury meaty characters add interest. This is a bigger, bolder expression of Douglas than previous releases, but just as impressive. Cabernet Sauvignon (64%), Merlot (27%) and Pinot Noir.
